back from Seoul

So, V and I spent the last week in Korea - Seoul more accurately. Damn, I like that city. It is the closest thing I've found to NYC in all of Asia that I've been too. In terms of fashion, building style and attitude, definitely felt like home.

Also, no offense to my country of occupation, but Korean food is way more flavorful than Japanese. They understand the concept of spices, and there's a lot more variety of dishes. This won't turn into a "Korea is better than Japan" post, but let's just say that it was a breath of fresh air.

We had the unfortunate timing to come at the beginning of a week of rain, which cut down on my exploration a little, but mostly just increased my dampness. We pretty much walked everywhere. Oh, I suppose it did make it much less of a photo-trip than I would have liked. I took 2 rolls of B&W film and about 90 digital pictures, mostly at...

The DMZ.

Damn, that's one interesting place. The propaganda was AMAZING. Words fail. I have actually stepped into North Korea at this point, even if it was inside a building (you can literally cross the middle of the room and be in the other country)

Oh, and other highlight of the trip - I ATE DOG!!!! I can now say that the blasted things are worthless as food too...very stringy and fatty...kinda tastes like a cross between beef and chicken.

Should you want to see the few digital picts I took, here they are:

Korea Picts

They are much more "vacation" pictures than I normally post, but that's about all I could do with the rain like it was.
