So I decided to take an already done painting and copy it (not really "reference", since I reproduced it much too closely for that)

I thought it turned out rather well, all things considered. Playing with the "light against dark" concept, and getting much less timid about making brush strokes...I also think its much harder to figure out which brushes I used in this picture (please tell me if I'm wrong *grin* )
